The aim of the Good Shepherd Aftercare Team is to assist people who are homeless to move out of homelessness into sustainable housing. The service works in partnership with other agencies both statutory and voluntary.

Objectives

• To support residents of Good Shephers Services who have been out of home in their transition to independent living
• To make a planned intervention which assists a family, couple or individual to break the cycle of homelessness
• To assist service users to link with local networks and avail of local services
• To actively involve each person in decision making and planning
• While housing is important, the aftercare service endeavours to address other needs - education, social and healthcare, literacy and employment
